Abstract

The results of assessment of necessity of creation of engineering system of Big Pond water quality maintenance of the Moscow Zoological Park are considered. A detailed description of the system structure and operation principles allowing maintaining the required ecological state of the water in the Big Pond that is substantial point of exposure and architectural center of the Zoo. The results of water quality measurements are provided. These measurements were made before commissioning of the system and after three years of exploitation. The conclusion about expediency of creation of similar engineering systems on other intensively operated city water objects is made.
