Abstract

The urban environmental safety system includes many factors: the quality of the air basin and reservoirs, the work of urban transport, the radiation state of the territory, the storage of solid waste, the level of greening of the urban area, monitoring of pollutants in the environment, etc. is one of the dominant factors. This study has developed a scale for assessing the level of gardening in a residential area of the urban environment in terms of the phytomodular index (Pgp). Examples of the calculation of the Pgp in the residential quarter of the Krasnooktyabrsky district of Volgograd, which indicates a shortage of greenery, are given. When selecting the missing plants for a residential quarter, special attention should be paid to anthropogenic loads and the formation of green space modules taking into account their gas absorption, dust removal, bactericidal functions, etc. The calculation of the phytomodular index makes it possible to bring the green space of urbanized areas into compliance with the regulatory and legislative base, thereby improving the environmental safety system of the urban environment and improving the quality of life of citizens.
