Abstract

For the first time in Dagestan, the accumulation of heavy metals in the organs of plants of the genus Achillea L. and soils has been studied. The content of 8 elements in the aboveground and underground mass of plants of the genus Achillea L. of background and anthropogenically disturbed areas, as well as in the soils on which they grow, has been determined. It was established that the accumulation and distribution of heavy metals in plant organs was influenced by pollution by motor transport. Heavy metals (zinc, copper, cobalt, lead, cadmium) in the studied plants under conditions of pollution accumulate in the leaves and inflorescences. The levels of toxic elements, such as nickel and cadmium, in the populated areas of Dagestans foothill (tourist base Termenlik, village Erpeli, village Dyubek), are exceeded in Achillea millefolium and Achillea nobilis (Ni 1.5—3 times, Cd 1.6 times).
