Abstract

The results of the analysis of the quality of atmospheric air of cities according to the Ecological Bulletin of the Don for 2012—2017. The principles and rules of the General theory of environmental safety ac-cording to The author-compiler L. P. Mileshko are considered to be the basis of the methodology of environmental safety in the regions. It is known that according to the literature, the priority air pollutants in a number of cities of the Rostov region include suspended solids, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, formaldehyde, phenol, lead, hydrocarbons and others. It is noted that the dynamics of changes in the state of atmospheric air in industrial cities is important for the timely adoption of effective management decisions at all levels. The assessment of the degree of environmental safety of cities is given: Tsimlyansk — high, Shakhty — low, Taganrog — low, Azov — medium, Rostov- on-Don — low, Volgodonsk — medium, Novocherkassk — low.
