Abstract

The paper deals with the environmental situation in the agricultural areas of Russia. The authorschar¬acterize the current environmental situation as “unfavorable”. Soils are subjected to negative man-made impacts: pollution, disturbance, degradation, etc. However the latest researches conducted by the Insti¬tute of geography of RAS have shown that there is the effective potential for development of the undis¬turbed and unpolluted lands in Russia. This phenomenon opens wide prospects for producers of eco- friendly agricultural products in Russian Federation. Agroecopolis promotes the sound development and conservation of the natural landscapes in rural areas. Agro-ecopolis is a new form of settlement and pro¬gressive type of nature management that can develop harmonious and balanced relations between people and the environment.
