Abstract

Held vectorization of the shoreline of the Aral sea for fifty-two years of observations by remote sensing of the Earth, has allowed to calculate the square of the water surface, to trace the dynamics of its change. Critical periods of shallowing of the sea and their causes are identified. The use of satellite imagery for monitoring of ecological changes can serve as a basis for the study of other water bodies.
