Abstract

The article assesses the state of the soil cover in Abakan, set of morphological characteristics and conditions of formation of the profile of urban soils. Revealed significant differences in the content of heavy metals in different groups of soils, depending on the peculiarities of the territory and the location relative to emission sources. Assessment of chemical contamination of soils is carried out taking into account the background concentrations of heavy metals, established standards and Clarke numbers for certain cities with a population of 100—300 thousand people.
