Abstract

It is demonstrated that habitation of lesser white-toothed shrew (Crocidura suaveolens) was discovered on the territory of Bashkortostan Republic for the first time. Moreover, this is not a random encounter of an ecdemic species, but a stable settlement in a human-caused biotope of Yumatovo suburban village, where animals were captured annually in the period of 2012—2014. As a result, existence of this species population in the South Cis-Ural region at 54°45'N has been proved.
